New brand identity for Al Shaqab reflects ambitions for future
Doha, 1 October 2007 - Qatar Foundation today announced that Al Shaqab is the new permanent name of the Education City project formerly known as Al Shaqab Stud and Riding Academy.Qatar Foundation also revealed the new logo for Al Shaqab and the vision behind it.
The "Al Shaqab" rebranding reflects the wide scope of work the organization will undertake when it moves into the new international equine venue, currently under construction at Education City. Qatar Foundation has planned a spectacular facility for Al Shaqab, which will position it as the region's number one equestrian center, and a global leader in the field.

For many years, Al Shaqab has been a highly-requested destination of visitors to Doha. In response to this interest, the new facility will include a visitor's center and museum to showcase the heritage of the Arabian horse.

In addition, the media section of this site features news releases and updates, as well as recent accomplishments of the Al Shaqab horses and riders. As the facility nears completion, an informative newsletter will also be available. Please contact us should you require further information.

Al Shaqab garners highest honors at Europe's most important shows


The All Nations Cup held in Aachen, Germany and the World Championships at the Salon du Cheval in Paris are the premier annual events on the competitive international Arabian show circuit. In September of 2007, Al Shaqab achieved the amazing honor of claiming both Junior Championships at the All Nations Cup. The dynamic young Marwan Al Shaqab son, Mardigras JMF was named Junior Champion Colt, while the lovely Versace daughter Venetzia was awarded the title of Junior Champion Filly. Venetzia also garnered top honors at the World Championships in Paris, as she was named World Reserve Junior Champion Filly. After a highly successful show season throughout Europe, both horses arrived home to Al Shaqab on January 31st, 2008.

Qatari Endurance Team Victorious at the HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Endurance Cup


Al Shaqab horses and riders achieved total victory in the recent HH Sheikh Tamim Endurance Cup held January 19th, 2008 near Doha. The Senior riders came in first second and third and the junior riders duplicated the feat in this 100 kilometer race held near Doha

Marwan Al Shaqab sons win World Champion and Reserve World Champion Junior Colt

The sons of daughters of Al Shaqab World Champion Stallion Marwan Al Shaqab continue to dominate show rings around the world. At the 2007 World Championships, held at the Salon du Cheval in Paris, Marajj (Marwan Al Shaqab x RGA Kouress) earned World Champion Junior Colt honors. He is owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi of Sharjah. Reserve World Champion Junior Colt, Marquis (Marwan Al Shaqab x Rohara Magnifica) represented the Al Khalediah farm of HRH Prince Khaled Bin Sultan Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. Congratulations also to the Michalów Stud of Poland for their Top Ten Victories in Paris with the Gazal Al Shaqab daughters Ejrene and Pistoria.
